TMB Substrate for EIA

Enzyme-ImmunoAssay (EIA) has become a generally accepted and applied technique for identification and quantitation of antigens, haptens and antibodies. One of the various enzymes suitable for use in EIA is horseradish peroxidase (HRP), including its polymer. In colorimetric determination of HRP, 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) has become the most popularly used chromogen since it offers superior sensitivity over other chromogens and is non-carcinogenic. TMB has been used for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), immunoblotting and immunohistochemical (IHC) procedures.

Biopanda Diagnostics has specialised in the development and manufacture of substrates used when working with HRP. To meet the requirements of various EIA formats, TMB in different formulations are available. The general features of these substrate solutions are as follows:

  • Stability: ranging from 12-36 months
  • Safety: no harmful organic solvents, e.g. DMF or DMSO
  • Consistency: lot -to-lot
  • Background: low
  • Performance: superior
  • Tolerates normal indoor light and air-open without auto-oxidation

It is supplied as either a one- or two-component formulation:

2 in 1 Formula

This type of TMB solutions is supplied as a ready-to-use mono-component liquid, containing TMB and H2O2 in an acidic buffer.

1 + 1 Formula

This type of TMB solutions is supplied as two parts, so is called two-component substrates. Part A is a H2O2 -containing solution and Part B TMB-containing one, in a separate bottle. Mix them at 1:1 ratio just before application.

Free of charge samples of these TMB products are available for trials. So please do not hesitate to contact us for test samples for you to select the optimal choice of TMB solution. In addition, please be aware that we can develop a TMB solution to meet your specific requirements.
